Prep done, just have to drill the right chassis plate for mouting screws.
The final finish on these is DEFT semi-gloss spray.
I would spray the base and let it sit overnight before hitting it with a some very fine steel wool.
It will actuallly dry in 20-30 minutes, but I found with cooler temps, the longer drying allowed some of the orange peel to level out
When I have used this in summer, I never had a problem with the orange peel. It just doesn't like the cooler temp in my garage now.
The steel wool help to level it out, then a few more coats to build up a nice furniture quality finish.
I did not steel wool the final coat of DEFT.
TIP: if the finish gets bumpy/waves/drips you can sand it back smooth with some 400 or 600 grit paper.
